Family Pictures May 2012

About a week and a half ago (and just 2 days before she and her family left Grenada ), our amazingly talented friend Michelle took some family/Beckham 1 year photos for us at Lance Aux Epines beach, which is just down the road from our apartment. Here are some of my favorites (it was hard to narrow it down even this much)...

This is probably one of my favorites. Love these boys so much!!!

Yes, that is a mullet on my child... :)

Blue eyes all around

Tired boy

For those who want to see the rest of the pictures, here's a link:

And for those who want to check out some more of Michelle's beautiful work, here's a link to her website:

Thanks again Michelle for taking these for us! We will cherish them forever!

Party Time!

The Saturday after Beckham's birthday, we had a little party for him and invited all of his little 1 year old friends over to play and eat cake.

Beckham's own personal cake to devour (everyone else got cupcakes)
Cute friends :)
I still can't believe we got them all to sit on the couch with their hats on!
Waiting patiently for his cake
Is this for me???
He actually kept the party hat on the entire time he was digging in
The aftermath
Thanks to all of Beckham's little friends (and their moms...) who came and made Beckham's first birthday so much fun!

This Little Guy is 1!!!

On April 24th, Beckham turned 1! I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone by. It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we were bringing him home to our little Newcastle apartment for the first time. We sure do love this little guy and couldn't imagine life without him!

Opening presents
Lunch with Daddy at school
Picnic dinner on the beach
Love his toothy grin :)

I can't believe how close this little guy is to turning 1!
We've loved every minute of the last 11 months with him!

Grenadian Independence Day

February 7th was Grenada's Independence Day. After deep sea fishing in the morning, we headed down to the national stadium with some friends to check out the celebration. It was definitely different than Independence Day celebrations back home, but fun to be a part of! Here's to 38 years of freedom!

These guys were rolling down the street when we pulled up to the stadium

The parade...which consisted of Grenada's military officers standing in the heat (several even had to be helped back to the shade), then marching around the stadium a couple of times. Definitely different than parades we're used to! But a great way to recognize the officers.

Cute kids recreating the flag

They had several paratroopers land inside the stadium. It started getting pretty windy and rainy right after the first couple and one even ended up in the stands! (Luckily no one was hurt, other than maybe the paratrooper's pride...)

More street performers rolling by as we left
